
FOUNDER
Jaime Nogueira Pinto is the founder and CEO of GAPORSUL. He holds a degree in Law from the University of Lisbon, and a PhD in International Relations from the Institute of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Jaime is the author of many books and essays on Portuguese contemporary history, political science, military relations and African affairs, and is a regular contributor to Portuguese and international media.
He is a member of the Institut d’Études Politiques (Bendern), Le Cercle (London), The Heritage Foundation (Washington), Club de Nice – Énergie et Géopolitique (Nice) and Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Politicas (Madrid).
His experience in Africa dates back to 1974, when he served in the Portuguese Army. During the Cold War, he provided political and social advice to African freedom fighters and, with international partners, played an active role in the peace processes of Angola, Mozambique and other Portuguese-speaking countries.
Jaime Nogueira Pinto is President of FLAC – Luso-African Foundation for Culture (an NGO undertaking civil society training of political and military cadres in Lusophone African countries)
